Steve Kerr is still adjusting to life without Klay Thompson on the Warriors.
Klay’s Departure
Even though Klay Thompson has moved to the Dallas Mavericks, Steve Kerr admits it won’t feel real until the first game of the season. He shared with Kerith Burke that it’ll hit him when they step onto the court without Klay.

Klay spent 13 years with the Warriors, winning four championships under Kerr. But after a tough season where he temporarily lost his starting spot, he decided to leave. “Klay brought so much joy and humor,” said Kerr. “His unique personality will be missed.”
Memorable Moments
Klay was not just known for his shooting and defense but also for his quirky habits. He often jumped into San Francisco Bay before big games and once sparked an incredible winning streak by signing a toaster for a fan.

Warriors’ New Look
Despite missing Klay, the Warriors are doing well in preseason games. They recently beat the Sacramento Kings by making 28 three-pointers, with new players Buddy Hield and De’Anthony Melton stepping up impressively.

Meanwhile, Klay had a decent start with the Mavericks, scoring 10 points in 18 minutes during his debut game.
Upcoming Showdown
The true test of emotions might come when the Mavericks face off against the Warriors on November 12th. Kerr expects nothing less than an intense performance from Klay in that matchup. “I bet he’ll shoot every chance he gets,” joked Kerr.
