Suns Grayson Allen Makes Franchise History With 10 Three Pointers

Grayson Allen erupts for career-high 42 points, sets Suns franchise record

Grayson Allen stole the show Monday night, overshadowing even Devin Booker as the Phoenix Suns cruised to a 121-98 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Allen exploded for a career-high 42 points in just 28 minutes of action.

But that wasn’t even the most impressive part of his performance.

The 30-year-old sharpshooter knocked down 10 three-pointers, setting a new Phoenix Suns franchise record. He accomplished this remarkable feat on just 17 total shot attempts – making him only the 26th player in NBA history to score 42+ points on so few shots.

“I absolutely love Phoenix and love the fans here,” Allen said after the game. “It’s surreal to have a moment where everyone is chanting your name and cheering you on. I’ll never ever ever ever take that for granted. I’m so grateful for all the support I get here.”

Allen wasted no time heating up, pouring in 18 points in his first 14 minutes on the floor. He added another 17 in the third quarter and seven more in the fourth to complete his historic night.

While Booker leads the Suns this season with 28.4 points per game, it was Allen who commanded the spotlight against the Pelicans.

The crowd even serenaded him with MVP chants late in the game.

“I don’t know how many times that’s going to happen,” Allen admitted. “That was pretty cool.”

Allen joined the Suns before the 2023-24 season as part of a three-team trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. Now in his third season with Phoenix, he’s taken on a much bigger role following Kevin Durant’s departure.

He’s started all 11 games for the Suns this season after coming off the bench for much of last year. The increased playing time – up to 33.8 minutes per game from 24.1 last season – has helped him find his rhythm.

Allen is averaging career highs across the board this season with 18.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, along with 3.1 rebounds.

Teammate Jalen Green, who was sidelined for the game, kept Allen updated on his stats throughout the night. Allen admitted he was gunning for that 10th three-pointer once he realized the record was within reach.

With new faces in the lineup and an expanded role, Allen has become a key piece for the Suns in 2025-26. Monday night’s performance might just be a sign of what’s to come.
