Team USA pulled off an amazing comeback against Serbia in the Olympic semifinals, winning 95-91 after trailing by 17 points.
Stephen Curry’s Stellar Performance
Despite having beaten Serbia twice recently, Team USA found themselves down for most of the game. They were behind by 13 points going into the last quarter. But in a thrilling turn of events, they outscored Serbia 32-15 in the final minutes. The highlight was Stephen Curry’s three-pointer with just over two minutes left that put them ahead for good.
Curry delivered his best game ever for Team USA, scoring 36 pointsโjust one point shy of Carmelo Anthonyโs American Olympic record and setting a new high for U.S. players in knockout games.

“This is the most fun I’ve had in a very long time,” Curry said after the game.
Coach Steve Kerr was full of praise: โI am really humbled to have been a part of this game,โ he said. โItโs one of the greatest basketball games Iโve ever been a part of.โ
LeBron James Shines Too
Curry wasnโt alone; LeBron James also played a crucial role with his second Olympic triple-doubleโ16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. His performance helped secure their spot in the gold medal match against France, which will be a rematch from Tokyo 2021.

โWe knew it was going to be difficult,โ James admitted. At almost 40 years old, he remains unstoppable and has made history as the first menโs player with multiple triple-doubles at the Olympics.
Aiming for Another Gold
While Curry and James led brilliantly, it was truly a team effort. Joel Embiid added 19 points and Kevin Durant chipped in nine crucial ones too. On Serbiaโs side, Jokic scored 17 points with Bogdanovic adding another 20 but it wasn’t enough to stop Team USA’s charge towards victory.
James summed up everyoneโs feelings about Curry: โIt was only a matter of time before he had one of these games… It was perfect timing.โ
Now Team USA is set on winning its fifth consecutive Olympic gold on Saturday!
