The Oklahoma City Thunder are off to an incredible start with seven straight wins this NBA season.
Thunder’s Historic Start
The Thunder, now standing at 7-0, have managed something no other team has done before: winning their first seven games by more than 10 points each. Their latest victory was a solid 102-86 win against the Magic.

Dominant Performances
On average, OKC has been beating teams by a whopping 17.4 points per game. The closest anyone came to challenging them was the Spurs, who still lost by 12 points.

Chasing History
If they keep up this pace, the Thunder could break records set by legendary teams like the ’71 Lakers and ’96 Bulls for point margins in a season. This yearโs Warriors and Celtics are also crushing opponents but not quite like OKC.

Strengthening Defense
The Thunder’s defense is already fierce, holding teams to just under 96 points per gameโway better than top defensive teams like the Celtics and Cavaliers. And theyโre doing all this without Isaiah Hartenstein, whoโs out with an injury but expected back soon.
Second-year player Chet Holmgren has been key in protecting the paint while Luguentz Dort and others lock down the perimeter.
Future Prospects
On ESPN’s “NBA Today,” Kendrick Perkins praised OKC as potentially the best in the West, predicting theyโll face off against the Celtics in next year’s Finals. He said they play with maturity beyond their yearsโa true team effort.
Last season, despite being young stars as a No.1 seed, they fell short against Dallas in playoffs’ second round. But this time around? They seem ready for greatness!
