The 2024 NBA preseason is giving us a sneak peek at the league’s newest stars, and some rookies are already shining brightly.
Rising Star: Zaccharie Risacher
When the Atlanta Hawks picked Zaccharie Risacher as their top choice, many were puzzled. His performance during the NBA Summer League wasn’t impressive, with low shooting percentages causing doubts about his potential. Yet, in a recent game against the Indiana Pacers, Risacher began to change minds. He played with poise and confidence, sinking three out of four shots from beyond the arc and showing off impressive passing skills. This glimpse of his talent hints that he might be more than just a scorer.

Risacher expressed his excitement after the game: โI was super excited for the game,โ he said. โJust like the process with training camp and everything, it was the start of something great, I think.” If he keeps improving like this, fans believe he could lead Atlanta to a bright future.
The Versatile Stephon Castle
Stephon Castle doesn’t have flashy stats yet with the San Antonio Spurs but has shown he’s got all-around skills. He’s like a toolbox full of surprises! Whether it’s driving to the basket or hitting threes at nearly 43%, he’s proving to be quite versatile. Plus, his energy on defense is contagious among teammates.
We think Castle’s potential is sky-high! If he continues developing these skills, he might become an all-star player who can do it all on both ends of the court.
Promising Talent: Rob Dillingham
Rob Dillingham’s preseason journey with Minnesota Timberwolves has been full of ups and downs. In one game against Lakers’ defense, he scored 21 points effortlessly; however against Knicksโ tough guards struggled significantlyโyet bounced back strong when facing Philadelphia 76ers by focusing more on playmaking rather than scoring himself!
Rob Dillingham dished out nine assists to zero turnovers in 23 minutes.
The Timberwolves have set up Dillingham to be in an ideal environment to learn true point guard play from Mike Conley.
Minnesota will rely on him this season for critical bench roles.
Dillinghamโs growth will be crucial for Minnesota’s championship hopes amidst fierce Western Conference competition where every win counts! Although Rookie-of-the-Year seems unlikely due limited playing time nowโwho knows what future holds? Maybe someday soon he’ll become standout star among peers…
