Trae Young strikes again, leaving Knicks fans in shock and awe at MSG!
Trae Young: The NBA’s Ultimate Villain
Oh man, Trae Young just loves playing the bad guy, doesn’t he? This time, he strutted into Madison Square Garden and sent the Knicks packing from the NBA Cup. Despite the odds being stacked against them (we’re talking +280 underdogs here according to the top betting sites), the Hawks pulled off a jaw-dropping upset and punched their ticket to Vegas. Sorry, Josh Hart, you might have to hold off on that fancy watch for now!
Young was on fire, racking up 22 points, dishing out 11 assists, and snagging five rebounds. And let’s not forget his “love-hate” relationship with the MSG crowd. As he put it, โItโs a love-hate relationship. I got a lot of love and lot of hate I guess from them, but I got a lot of love from them too. Itโs respect.โ Classic Trae.

Ice Trae: New York’s Chilly Rivalry
The saga of Trae Young versus Knicks fans is like a soap opera that just keeps delivering drama. Ever since that unforgettable 2021 playoff series, where Young led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals, he’s been a thornโor should I say icicleโin the Knicks’ side. Remember when he shushed the MSG crowd after nailing the game-winner in Game 1? Pure gold.
In my opinion, Trae thrives on this villain role. It’s like he’s got a flair for the dramatic, and honestly, the NBA needs characters like him. After missing a Christmas Day showdown at MSG in 2021, he came back with a vengeance in March 2022, dropping a cool 45 points. The Hawks have taken four of their last five games in New York since then. Talk about owning the stage!
Here’s hoping we get to see more of these epic showdowns. Who doesn’t love a good rivalry, right?
So, what do you think? Is Trae Young the NBA’s most entertaining villain, or is there someone else who deserves the crown?
