Zach LaVine has been dodging trade rumors for multiple seasons now as he gets ready for his eighth season in the Windy City.
ESPN senior NBA writer Marc J. Spears said on Tuesday that the 29-year-old could be a perfect fit with the Golden State Warriors.
This isn’t the first time that LaVine has been connected to the Dubs. In early July, NBC Sports Chicago insider K.C. Johnson said on the “Bulls Talk” Podcast that the Warriors and Sacramento Kings were “still having conversations” with the Bulls about a possible trade for LaVine.
.@MarcJSpears on a possible off-season target for the Warriors:
“I think it’s worth taking a chance on Zach LaVine…if you’re going to take a risk on Zach LaVine I think they have the roster to do it with….If he can be healthy, I think he puts the Warriors in a differentโฆ

Trade Talks and Player Moves:
In less than one week after those talks, Golden State bid farewell to Klay Thompson in a massive six-team trade. They got sharpshooter Buddy Hield instead. Now, if Hield comes off the bench this season, targeting LaVine might make sense. Hield started most of his career games but had fewer starts last season.
Golden State might consider trading Brandin Podziemski, their young shooting guard . The lefty was picked 19th overall in 2023 and did really well last season. He made first-team All-Rookie honors and finished second on his team in rebounds per game across 74 contests (28 starts). He averaged 9.2 points, 3.7 assists, and played around 26 minutes per game.
Fans might wonder if this move will finally bring stability to their roster.
Earlier in August, reports surfaced that Golden State made an aggressive offer for forward Lauri Markkanen from Utah Jazz before he re-signed there. However, they didn’t want to trade Podziemski at that time.
LaVine’s best years were from 2020-2022 when he made back-to-back All-Star teams with Chicago Bulls. His peak performance came during the 2020-2021 season where he had career highs in points (27.4), assists (4.9), field goal percentage (.507), and three-point percentage (.419).
Unfortunately, injuries limited him to just 25 games during the 2023-2024 campaign before undergoing surgery on his right foot mid-January.
What do you think about these potential moves?
