It was a moment of respect and honesty from Victor Wembanyama to Kevin Durant after their gold-medal clash at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Wembanyama helped France stay close with Team USA before losing 98-87. After the game, he spoke with Durant, his childhood hero.
During an interview with M6 Info, Wembanyama shared what he told Durant after the match (h/t ClutchPoints).
“This is my personal childhood favorite,” Wembanyama said. “He became my favorite playerโฆ I made it clear that I wanted to learn from him (and) perhaps only steal one or two of his secret techniques.”
