VIDEO: Stephen Curry Erupts for Historic 52 Points Against Grizzlies

Steph Curry’s Memphis Redemption: From Zero to 52

Steph Curry just flipped the script in Memphis.

The last time he played there in December? He couldn’t buy a bucket, going scoreless from the field as Golden State suffered an embarrassing 51-point beatdown.

Last night? He dropped a historic 52 points as the Warriors cruised to a 134-125 victory.

Talk about a comeback story.

“I had actually forgotten,” Curry admitted when asked if that December disaster motivated him. “I was just kind of more focused on how big this game was for us.”

Big indeed. The win pushed Golden State into fifth place in the Western Conference, giving them a two-game cushion over Memphis in the standings.

Curry was locked in from the opening tip, hitting his first five shots including four three-pointers. By halftime, he’d already knocked down 11-of-16 shots and was a blistering 8-of-10 from downtown.

“I feel in a good rhythm,” he said after the game. “The week off helped. The tank is pretty full.”

Full? More like overflowing.

This was Curry’s 27th career game with at least 10 made three-pointers. No other player in NBA history comes close – his former teammate Klay Thompson sits in second place with just nine such games.

At 37 years old, Curry isn’t just scoring – he’s making history. His final stat line of 52 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists marked the first time a Warrior has posted those numbers since Rick Barry did it against Portland way back in 1974.

He also passed Jerry West on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, moving into 25th place.

“I got a little emotional about that,” Curry revealed. “It was special. In his memory. What he meant to our organization, the league, to the world of basketball… That’s the logo.”

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who’s had a front-row seat to Curry’s brilliance for over a decade, still finds himself amazed.

“Fifty-two points with people draped all over him, all game long,” Kerr said, shaking his head. “I’ve been watching this for 11 years, and actually longer before I became his coach… You get a real sense of just the magnitude of his talent. The guy is amazing to watch.”

From zero points to 52. From a 51-point loss to a convincing win.

Just another chapter in the remarkable career of Steph Curry.
