Vince Carter Joins NBC Sports as NBA Studio Analyst
Basketball legend Vince Carter is taking his talents to the broadcast booth. The Hall of Famer will join NBC Sports as a studio analyst when NBA games return to Peacock this October for the 2025-26 season.
This isn’t Carter’s first time behind the mic. He’s already made several guest appearances this season.
NBC announced Tuesday that the eight-time All-Star will be in studio at least once a week during the playoffs.
“I could not be more excited to be a part of the historic return of the NBA to NBC and Peacock,” Carter said.
He’s particularly looking forward to working alongside fellow NBA star Carmelo Anthony. “I’m truly looking forward to joining Melo in the studio and the rest of the broadcast team, as we bring NBA fans best-in-class coverage of the league they love.”
The move comes as NBCUniversal reclaims NBA rights through a new 11-year contract starting in July.
Carter and Anthony aren’t the only big names joining the broadcast team. Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford have been hired as game analysts, while Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle will handle play-by-play duties.
Perhaps the biggest surprise? Michael Jordan himself will contribute as a special contributor.
Carter’s NBA career spanned an incredible 22 seasons. He’s best known for his time with the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets, though he later played for six other teams including the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, and Atlanta Hawks.
The 46-year-old began his career with a bang, winning NBA Rookie of the Year. He earned two All-NBA selections during his career and became a household name after his jaw-dropping performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest.
“Vince is one of the most explosive players in NBA history,” said Sam Flood, Executive Producer of NBC Sports. “His dynamic play on the court has translated seamlessly into his broadcasting career.”
Flood added that Carter will work alongside “fellow Hall of Famer, perennial All-Star, and Olympic champion” Carmelo Anthony, noting both have played with or against stars from multiple NBA eras.
