Warriors’ Draymond Green Asks Players to Get Rid of Personal Agendas

Golden State’s veterans call out team’s “personal agendas” after embarrassing loss

The Warriors got absolutely crushed Tuesday night, falling behind by 35 points after three quarters in a 126-102 road loss to the Thunder.

It wasn’t pretty.

Golden State has now dropped to 6-6 on the season and hasn’t won away from home since opening night in Los Angeles. That’s six straight road losses.

After the game, the team’s leaders didn’t hold back.

“I think everyone has a personal agenda in this league but you have to make the personal agenda work in the team confines,” Draymond Green told reporters. “And if it doesn’t work then you kinda gotta get rid of your agenda or eventually the agenda is the cause of someone getting rid of you.”

While Green didn’t name names, his message was clear – this team needs to start playing for each other.

Jimmy Butler echoed those sentiments moments later.

“Everybody might have to sacrifice something,” Butler said, also keeping his criticism general rather than targeting specific teammates.

The Warriors started the season looking strong at 4-1, but have gone just 2-5 since then.

Steph Curry also addressed the mounting frustration: “The big issue is, obviously when you lose, you start to look around and try to figure out what the issue is.”

Head coach Steve Kerr pointed to specific problems after the blowout loss. The team isn’t taking care of the ball, fighting for rebounds, or creating good shots – all areas where they excelled last season.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Golden State’s identity crisis. They’re just getting started on a brutal six-game road trip with five more away games before returning home on November 21.

Currently sitting ninth in the Western Conference, the Warriors face another tough test Wednesday night against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in the second game of a back-to-back.

Can they turn things around? The veterans clearly think it starts with putting team success ahead of individual goals.
