Warriors Seek Another All-Star

The Golden State Warriors are on the hunt for a new All-Star to join Stephen Curry after Klay Thompson’s exit.

Failed Attempts and Future Plans:

This summer, the Warriors tried but failed to get Paul George and Lauri Markkanen. The NBA trade deadline is February 6, so they have time to find another player. Their current roster might be strong enough to keep them competitive until then. If they do well, the team can relax and wait until next summer for more trade options.

Potential Targets:

According to Michael Pina from The Ringer, the Warriors have some choices if they want a star before the season starts. Possible targets include Julius Randle, Brandon Ingram, and Jimmy Butler. Pina mentioned that while big trades are tough, the Warriors could make a strong offer if another star becomes available at a reasonable price.

“Blockbuster deals are never easy, and it makes some sense for Golden State to see what it has before any rash decisions are made,” Pina wrote. “But in whiffing on PG and Markkanen, the Warriors kept their powder dry. Suppose another star becomes available at a price that makes sense for everyone involved (Jimmy Butler? Brandon Ingram? Julius Randle?). In that case, they can craft a compelling offer and, one last time, become a heavyweight contender once again.”

Challenges with Acquiring Stars:

Of these stars, Ingram might be the easiest to get but comes with questions about his contract value. On the other hand, trading for Randle or Butler seems trickier as both have been mentioned in rumors this summer.

Fans think it’s exciting but risky!

The Cost of Trades:

Any trade for an All-Star would likely cost one of their young talents like Moses Moody. The front office has been hesitant to give up future core players recently. They need to be sure that any new player will help them win championships; otherwise, it’s too risky.

The Tightrope Walk:

The Warriors need another star to stay competitive but can’t afford mistakes that could ruin Steph Curry and Draymond Green’s final years. They’ve balanced between contending and retooling for years; now it’s time to go all-in at some point soon!
