Warriors Welcome Klay Thompson with Hero’s Reception

If anyone wondered how Klay Thompson would be received back in the Bay Area, his entrance through the tunnel made it clear: it was going to be a night full of cheers.

Welcome Back, Klay

Thompson, dressed sharply, walked into the Chase Center as a visitor for the first time before his Dallas Mavericks faced off against the Golden State Warriors. Fans lined up to welcome him with cheers and captain’s hats, celebrating his love for boating and the sea.

Bittersweet Departure

Leaving Golden State wasn’t easy for Thompson, who spent 13 years there and won four championships. He lost his starting position last season and felt “miserable,” according to reports. When asked by the Warriors to wait during offseason trades, he chose to leave instead.

Yet despite any hard feelings with management, Thompson still has strong ties with former teammates and staff. The Warriors even created a touching video tribute thanking him for his contributions.

Fans really appreciate when teams show respect like this.

Friendly Rivalry

However, not everything was all warm fuzzies. Gary Payton II ended his message by jokingly telling Thompson he planned to beat him that night. Trayce Jackson-Davis hoped he’d have an off shooting night too! Kevon Looney summed it up best with a mischievous grin: “Good luck… I’m going to foul you.”

The Warriors are happy to see their old friend again but will be happier if they win against him tonight!
