WNBA Reveals Superstars Missing All-Star Event

Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu might join the NBA’s 2025 All-Star weekend three-point shootout.

However, they won’t be in the WNBA’s event on Friday night in Phoenix.

The WNBA confirmed that both players were invited to the contest but declined. Ionescu is busy with the Olympic camp for the Paris Games .

Main Event Details:

Clark just set a league record with 19 assists on Wednesday. She leads the WNBA in assists per game (8.2), turnovers (145), and three-point attempts (217). She’s also third in three-point field goals made (71).

Ionescu won last year’s WNBA three-point shootout and led the league with 128 deep connections. This season, she has made 74 three-pointers so far.

Minnesota Lynx’s Kayla McBride tops the list with 76 three-pointers and ranks fifth in attempts (178). Her success rate of 42.7% is higher than Clarkโ€™s (32.7%) and Ionescuโ€™s (35.6%). She’ll compete this Friday alongside Jonquel Jones, Stefanie Dolson, Marina Mabrey, and Allisha Gray.

Fans might think it’s exciting to see new faces competing this year.

Both Clark and Ionescu will play in Saturday’s All-Star Game: “Team WNBA” vs “U.S. Women’s National Team.” Clark will team up with Rookie of the Year contender Angel Reese from Chicago Sky before taking a break.

Ionescu will join her teammate Breanna Stewart and others on the national team as they prepare for Paris 2024 Olympics.
